If its White, Dont Bite|The Marvelous Nouveau|Sexy Never Left

Wattup Neo Hippies?!??! I know I always have these long pauses in between posts-I will get my act together one day-but Im about to bring sexy back.. Wait.. Sexy never left.. but anywho, I would like to introduce you all to my new fashion blog TheMarvelousNouveau.tumblr.com. This blog will have more frequent updates with fashion that I adore mixed in with social, political, and cultural commentary. Its a little bit of everything but fashion ties it all in. Hopefully soon Ill start featuring some wearable looks of my own including shopping tips and how to wear one item in a zillion different looks! Also DIY pieces which if you didn't know, I am a jewelry designer so I know a thing or two about being chic at little to no cost. I will continue to use this blog to post juice recipes and herbal remedies and my inner monologues--which often sound like dialogues--so keep up with both and reblog! repost! repeat. And remember, if its WHITE, DONT BITE! exoh KALAE

Blue Gold (Less Water, Mo' Problems)

SO, For the second year in a row I will be donating my birthday to Charity Water to help fund the production and shipment of a water rig to developing countries that will drill wells to provide FRESH, CLEAN, DRINKABLE water to thousands in need. http://mycharitywater.org/blue-gold-less-water-mo-problems This year I have named this campaign after a very powerful documentary called "Blue Gold." If you havent seen this, please watch on hulu or netflix or just google it and find it somewhere. It will change the way you feel about talking 20minute showers. So please, as my birthday gift this year, donate $24 (or what ever you have) to this campaign and send love with it. Then post this link on your social networks and talk to some of your close friends and family and ask them if they are willing to donate as well. My goal is $1000 and every little bit helps. http://mycharitywater.org/blue-gold-less-water-mo-problems exoh KALAE
Last year I donated my birthday to Water Works Charity and helped them to fund a rig that would drill 80 wells in Ethiopia bringing fresh drinkable water to over 40,000 people each year. I raised the small amount of $316 to donate to this cause, but since plenty of people just like me fund-raised and donated their birthdays, look at what they (WE) were able to accomplish.. This brings a tear to my eye. I want to do this everyday. exoh KALAE

I was thinking about writing a song like this earlier today, borrowing "bitch" lyrics from female rappers and putting them all together in one joint that would really open peoples eyes up towards the use of the word. Is it bad or good? Are any words "bad" or "good?" Isn't it the intention? exoh KALAE

My day at Pride

So me and a few buddies went to pride yesterday and had the time of our lives. We hopped the barricades at 14th st and joined the parade in its extravagant entirety, shaking our groove thang behind the west indian themed float. "We gotta get on a float next year" was the only thought Dancing in my head as I jumped through 20 blocks of glitter and sweat in my 5 inch heels. I was 'round some bad bitches. And that's a compliment. The vibrant arrays of ethnicities, genders, shapes, sizes, tucked penis's, thongs, pierced nipples, flashed breasts, priests and glitter was tremendous. It was a smorgasbord of style and ferocity. I literally got a metaphorical hard on. I fell in love and better yet, burned about 3,000 calories AT LEAST. I felt so touched. And I'm not even talking about the time that gay guy felt me up.. Im not even talking about the time that lesbian felt me up! Which reminds me, I even went to my first lesbian bar and got hit on by a gorgeous blonde with red lipstick. She was a bombshell but ya know, im'a straighty. That being said i feel so full of pride and more than happy to support my gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, cross dresser, and beyond friends as they take the fierce and brave leap into the future where sexual, physical and emotional gender lines will be crossed on a regular basis and it will be considered taboo to NOT be open to the limitless possibilities and surreality of our physical and metaphysical existence. GAY OK. I love my people, ALL of my people. God bless. Bitchez. *3snaps*

Bangin' on a Budget

I know there are a lot of fashion blogs out there that teach you how to look good on a budget. Well there "budget" is usually still way more than a starving artist/burgeoning fashionista such as myself can afford. I have unique taste and I need unique clothes in order to express myself to the fullest. I often find that I hardly shop-who woulda thunk it- unless I have a gross excess of money but recently I had an epiphany. Why can't I shop ALL THE TIME?!?! That's when the idea hit me. If I spent $25 a week on clothes and accessories that could be completely affordable as well as fashion forward for my closet of reusable items. And then "Bangin' on a Budget" was birthed. Every week I'll provide the details of an outfit/items/accessories that I bought for $25. I'll tell you where I went, how much each item was and then how I incorporated it all into my own very unique wardrobe. If you're wondering about my fashion sense, my favorite fabrics are sequins, lace, spandex and jean. I love gold and Anything acid washed. I love bold colors and patterns but I try not to look like a bag of skittles. I dig Jeremy Scott Adidas, Nike dunks and Jeffrey Campbell heels. I only where labels on my feet. Every one else can go to hell. If I get some bangin' shoes on a budget-you'll definitely hear about it!

If you think your style might be similar to mine or you think it's time for a change and you're looking for some inspiration come on this ridiculously cheap journey with me and share how you get bangin' pieces for incredibly low prices. And just so you know, this won't be strictly thrift shops. Take my first outfit for example, I got this at Forever 21 in times square. The top was $15 and the skirt was $10. The skirt also comes in bright orange and lime green! Then I mixed and matched it with accessories from home! So fun and the pieces are so versatile. Ill also incorporate a few different looks with the same pieces so you can continuously reinvent your look without ever leaving your closet.

Stay tuned
